Welcome to Pack 312, Apex NC!

Pack 312 is the oldest Pack in the Apex/Cary area which means that we’ve been having fun longer than most people have been alive!  Pack 312 is one of the only Packs in the Apex/Cary area chartered by a civic organization and the Lions are one of the most active charity and service organizations in the area. We often coordinate with them and their other chartered organization, Troop 209 - Apex—the oldest Boy Scout Troop in the Apex/Cary area. From September to May we meet as a Pack on the first Tuesday of the month and the Dens meet the other weeks to work with their Den leaders, Denners, and parents on their individual advancement requirements. The Pack also does a number of family outings like our Fall and Spring campouts, monthly Pack Hikes and the “Big Trip” in June/July where we camp overnight on the Battleship Wisconsin or Sleep with the Sharks at Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach. The individual dens also sometimes do “Get out of the Scout hut” outings to places like local fire stations, the Carolina Tiger Preserve, the Durham Museum of Life and Science, and the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center to provide local flavor to their requirements and experiences.

Great Holiday Parade!!

Posted on Dec 3 2017 - 2:31pm

Hi Pack 312,

It was a great parade on Saturday!  Special thanks to the Holiday Float Committee and all of the volunteers who built the float.  Not to be boastful but Pack 312 had one of the best designed floats in the parade.  I have a couple of special callouts and thank you's to make but first if anyone managed to get the license plate of the red truck parked in front of Suntrust Bank let me know.  Some of you might have heard the woman screaming "Cubmaster Carl rules!!  Committee Chair Wurst drools!!!" at the top of her lungs.  Even when a heckler is correct we don't want to encourage it.  I'll take responsibility here for being so awesome--as a former member of one of the 90's boy bands I know full well know the risks of displaying too much awesomeness.  I apologize and will try to tone it down to Walt Plekan levels (i.e., stop showering).

Great Hike at Umstead!!

Posted on Nov 18 2017 - 4:35pm

Hi Pack 312,

Thanks everyone who came out and made it great hike today. It wasn't our traditional hike as there were stations to stop at, a walking story along the way (very cool idea) and a playground, but I think everyone had fun.  Also please note I was able to speak to Advancement Coordinator Dan and he should be fully recovered by the next Pack meeting.  Barbed-Wire Ballet Dancing was a bad idea and that one is on me -- as a former professional interpretative dancer I full well know the dangers of mixing dancing and sharp objects and will keep it out of our future hiking events.
